Si Syarifah Silvia “Viorell” Assegaff ang isa sa pinakamagaling na Mobile Legends: Bang Bang player sa Indonesia noon.
Kilala siya sa kanyang signature hero na Lolita. Gayunpaman, si Viorell ay hindi isang pro player.
Sa katunayan, mayroon siyang full-time job at isang nanay na naglalaro lang ng Mobile Legends sa gabi pagkatapos matulog ng kanyang anak.
Hindi lang sa Mobile Legends talentado si Viorell
Si Viorell ay isang pro-level gamer sa nagdaang 17 taon. Maniwala man kayo o sa hindi, siya ay 38 taong gulang na noong 2020.
“I’ve always been a gamer. When I first started out around 2003 I played Counter-Strike, and I managed to get to a pro-level there too. At that time, female players were very rare,” kuwento niya sa ONE Esports.
“I joined a team of five girls, but there weren’t enough other all-female teams so we had to enter mixed tournaments. We were often invited to tournaments to appear as guests, but we eventually had to disband because it was really difficult back then to develop as an all-female team. Later, I joined a regular CS team, where I was the only girl.”
Matapos maglaro ng CS nang semi-professional sa loob ng pitong taon, umalis si Viorell para maglaro naman ng Dota. Sa kasamaang palad, kakalabas lang ng Dota 2 ay tumigil siyang maglaro dahil nagkasakit ang kanyang ama.
Namatay ang kanyang tatay noong 2017, at matapos ang anim na taong pagkawala sa competitive gaming, nagsimula siyang maglaro ulit.
“My son was eating and watching YouTube when a Mobile Legends advert appeared. I saw it and the graphics looked good, so I decided to try it out,” saad niya.
“I was originally a marksman player, but I started playing tank because no-one else wanted to take this role,” pagpapatuloy niya.
“When I was choosing which tank to pick, they all looked so scary. I really liked Lolita because she’s cute, with her small hammer.”
Nahirapan si Viorell na mag-adapt sa tank role noong una, pero kalaunan ay naging isa siya sa pinakamahusay dito lalo na sa hero na si Lolita.
“At first, I didn’t really understand how to play tank,” sabi niya. “I played Lolita a lot until I was about global rank 70, but at that time I wasn’t even thinking about win rates or MMR. In fact, I had to AFK often because I needed to look after my child.:
“I kept playing and playing and I got better until finally near the end of Season 12 I saw I was global rank 4,” dagdag niya. “After that, I started grouping up to push for the top spot. I don’t think it would be possible with just solo play, because the party must coordinate well with the tank.”
Nagtapos si Viorell bilang No. 1 global ranked Lolita noong Season 12.
